Estimates are based on the following numbers of respondents for NSW: HNE : 1997 - 2253, 1998 - 2287, 2002 - 1596, 2003 - 1773, 2004 - 1092, 2005 - 1495 and 2006 - 996. NSW : 1997 - 16790, 1998 - 16445, 2002 - 11997, 2003 - 12448, 2004 - 9063, 2005 - 11078 and 2006 - 7668. The indicator includes those with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 or higher. The questions used to define the indicator were: How tall are you without shoes? and How much do you weigh without clothes or shoes? BMI is calculated as follows: BMI = weight (kg)/height˛(m). Categories for this indicator include overweight (BMI between 25 and 29.9) and obese (BMI of 30 and over). |
